About the memorial: In honour of Geraldo Baeta Da Cruz, Geraldo Rodrigues De Souza and Arlindo Lucio Da Silva. On the night of the 14th April 1945 three members of the Brazilian Mountain Infantry were on a night reconnaissance patrol near the town of Montessa on the Gothic Line in Italy. As they returned to their own lines they were surrounded by the enemy and after running out of ammunition the enemy called on them to surrender, however they fixed bayonets to their rifles and charged the enemy. The German soldiers called them "Three Brave Brazilians"as sadly they died before Montessa was liberated on the 17th April 1945. Soon after the Brazilians captured two German and one Italian Fascist division and eventually over one million German soldiers surrendered. The memorial was installed in April 2020.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
