About the memorial: This memorial to the United Nations Partisan Forces Korea was estrablished by Sergeant David Sharp in 2016. David served behind enemy lines and was captured on three occasions bu tmanaged to escape twice. The details of the undercover operation were made public by the US Army in 1990. The unit worked deep inside North Korea to gather intelligence, conduct raids and sabotage, rescue POWs, recruit and lead guerrilla armies and create confusion in the enemy's rear.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

United Nationa Partisan Forces Korea On the 25th June 1950 some 75,000 soldiers of the North Korea People's Army crossed the 38th Parallel ands invaded the Republic of Korea in the South. Western Allied were soon involved in a war fighting the rise of communism in Asia. As part of this war men from the UNPF operated behind enemy lines at great risk.
