About the memorial: Gabrielle Alina Eugina Maria Petit was a Belgian citizen who was recruited in 1914 by the SIS to promote resistance in Belgium against the German invaders. She helped many soldiers escape and distributed resistance newspapers until she was betrayed, convicted of espionage and executed on the 1st April 1916, age 23. This memorial was dedicated on the 1st April 2016. Behind it stands an Amelanchier tree and a rose from Belgium.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

Gabrielle Petit 20th February 1893 - 1st April 1916 Age 23 When Belgium was invaded during August 1914 Gabrielle joined the Red Cross, but soon began a resistance network after being recruited by the British Secret Intelligence Service.
