About the memorial: On the 5th May 1967 "Taff" was part of a four man helicopter reconnaissance patrol in the Radfan mountains of Yemen. Unfortunately the helicopter crashed and all four onboard were killed. This memorial was established by "Taff's" friend Jeff Gravelle in 2012

Taff Iles 5th May 1967 Age 28 SAS Trooper Gilbert Francis Farley Iles also known as John died whilst on a helicopter night patrol in the Radfan, about 60 miles north of Aden. He was serving with D Squadron when the Westland Scout Helicopter XT635 crashed into the side of a hill killing all 4 onboard. In memory of the crew: - Pilot Lt.
