About the memorial: Four windows, 294cm high each 88cm wide. Each has a stained glass border which forms an arch at the top. In the centre of the two outer lights is a shield shape, with the date "1939" in gold on the left window and "1945" in gold on the right window. The window second from left is a scene commemorating the fallen, depicting a knight in armour facing an archangel across the river above the New Jerusalem, with 2 angels blowing trumpets. On a scroll across the archangel is the text "Glory to God and on earth peace". The quotation underneath the picture is in black Roman capitals. At the foot of the window is the dedication and list of names, painted in black Roman capitals, with some letters illuminated. The window third from left commemorates those who returned from war, and depicts a knight wearing the whole armour of God, standing on a slain dragon, and receiving the Crown of Victory from Christ. In the top left hand corner is the text "Life for evermore". Beneath the picture is the text, painted in large Roman capitals. At the foot of the window is the dedication, painted in black Roman capitals, with some letters illuminated. The current church was built in 1996 on the same site as the original Church

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
