About the memorial: In 1917 the Parish produced a Roll of Honour which was sent out to the men in the battle fields, and probably distributed to every village resident. No copy is on public display but at least one copy remains in private hands. The copy in this book printed in 2008 would seem to be a post war variant- the photograph is copyright for 70 years. Note that the name of Cornelius Mahony (on here) is spelt as Mahoney on the Cross (WMO/118746), in local newspaper reportage and by CWGC. Although he is believed to have died on 25 September 1915 his death was not formally confirmed until 9 August 1916- a memorial service for him was then held in the Church on 13 August 1916.
