About the memorial: Triptych with traceried carving at top and bottom. The central panel measures 33 inches high x 21 inches wide overall, and the side panels measure 33 inches high x 10½ inches wide. The left panel has a raised carving of a sword and a wreath, the ribbons of which bear the legend "Pro Patria" ("For Country"). The right hand panel has a cross inside a crown, the ribbons of which bear the legend "Pro Nobis" ("For us"). Both panels have rose emblems in all four corners. On either side of the top of the centre panel are shields surmounting stylized plant-like structures. The shield on the left is inscribed with the date "1914" and that on the right is inscribed "1918". Between these is a panel measuring approx. 9½ inches x 7¼ inches which bears the dedication. This has a wide border carrying national emblems. The names are listed in a single column on the centre panel. All lettering is incised using Roman capitals throughout.
