About the memorial: Dedicated 22nd July 1921, in the Court Room of Morant Hall, Lyndhurst Road. "The Roll of Honour is beautifully illuminated, and handsomely framed in fumed oak, inlaid with gold. On the top is the Foresters' emblem, and the words: "The Ancient Order of Foresters' Roll of Honour," and at the bottom the dates 1914-1918, Court Morant, 7030, Brockenhurst. The names of those who gave their lives occupy the place of honour in the centre, surmounted by the Cross, the other names being placed on each side." The Roll contained 190 names, including those of 27 fallen. Details from the Hampshire Independent, 29th July 1921, and the Hampshire Advertiser, 30th July 1921.
