About the memorial: Calvary cross the cross was carved in autumn, 1945 by students of the School of Ecclesiastical Arts at the University of Munster, Westphalia. The oak used for the figure was from the destroyed Cathedral of Munster. The cross was from ruins from the Ruhr and was made by a German cabinet maker. The current Church only opened in 1956 so this would have been in the original church at the corner of Wood Street and Theydon Avenue

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
