About the memorial: On the wall of a corridor leading off from the rear of the drill hall. Single horizontal rectangular sheet of white parchment behind black card mount framed by slim gold coloured frame and glazed. Three multi coloured badges at top of parchment, two depicting 'Duke of Lancasters Own' and the third is that of the Royal Artillery. Dedication beneath in black against three scrolls which are infilled with gold and there is lance with red and white pennant to either side of parchment. Handwritten names in black are contained in six columns within lances. Tribute is below names and beneath that is a thick black line with multi coloured decorative shapes to each end forming bottom corners. Single hand written name of possible compiler below black line.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.
