About the memorial: From newspaper report. Bronze plaque in an oak mount commemorating two men who died in WW1 and a Roll of Honour listing those who served. The upper part has two overlapping shields, surrounded by a laurel wreath with a scroll at the bottom. On the right hand shield is an anchor and on the left hand one a fortress. Both surmounted by a Royal crown. The dedication and names are below. The inscribed roll of the names has the names illuminiated with the superscriptions in old English text and surrounding them with a Gothic design, painted to represent oak, into the panels of which are the arms of Ulster and badge of the Irish Presbyterian Church (the burning bush). The trophies of flags of the Allies surrounding shields of the Royal arms, in brilliant colours, are placed left and right on the pilasters supporting the pediment.
