About the memorial: Single light stained glass window. Central winged figure of Victory holding a sword and a torch of liberty. Figure surmounting the arms of the Port of London Authority enclosed by a wreath from which springs a meander holding figures of the fighting and Civil Defence Services, with scenes of the bombing of the Port of London. Window is flanked by four smaller stained glass windows containing representations of types of ships using the Port of London from 1650 to 1950 the names of 125 staff members (64 hm forces personnel and 61 killed by enemy action at work or at home) whom the window commemorates are inscribed in a book displayed in a glazed case below the window (wmo/281809)...Mounted into the wall at the west end of the check-in hall where annually in November the Port of London Authority Remembrance Service is held. Originally at Port of London Authority Head Office.Trinity Square. London

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
