About the memorial: Four phosphor bronze and gun metal plaques, mounted on oak frames, set around a pillar. The plaques on the front and rear faces of the pillar are nowy-headed, with the School's initials (ACS) in monogram form set within a scrolled laurel wreath in repousse work at the top, beneath an arch supported at each side by columns adorned with repousse honeysuckle plants. Repousse scrolls, that on the front face bearing the name of the School, that on the rear face bearing the dedication to those who won Honours, are set above the incised inscriptions. The plaques on the sides of the pillar are rectangular, and plain in comparison, having a single cast Red Rose of Lancaster at the top, and an incised border enclosing the names of the fallen, which are also incised.
