About the memorial: Seven sandstone tablets arranged in an arc around the base of a tree. The first three and the last three are plain oblong tablets with the inscription at the centre of the 6 o'clock face. The centre tablet is oblong but with a shallow arch top and with the inscription at the centre of a recessed panel with moulded frame on the 6 o'clock face. Each tablet surmounts a slightly larger oblong base. The inscriptions are all incised in upright capital Roman lettering. The white stone in front of the tree in one of the 1992 photos is not part of the memorial.
