About the memorial: Tablet. The Manse was at 16 Station Road. When it was sold the dedication tablet which had been externally located on the Manse was moved into the Church Hall. The current United Reformed Church was The Congregational Church until 1972. In 2021 the United Reformed Church announced plans to sell the church and church hall. The current owner of The Manse asked if they could have the plaque returned and the church agreed. The plaque is now inside the house at 16 Station Road, in the hallway.

This tablet/was affixed by the/East Boldon Congregational Church/In honour & loving remembrance of/Lance-Corporal Thomas N Pippet /(only son of Mr and Mrs TY L Pippet of East Boldon)/who was killed in battle in France/on August 10th 1917/and in memory of whom this Manse was/given by his Parents
