About the memorial: Brass plaque in oak frame. This report is based solely on a newspaper report. It is very unclear where this memorial was or indeed is now. There is no online evidence of such a club in St Andrews except for the university Conservative association. There is some evidence of a town Conservative Association (see the National Archives reference) which has records up to 1952, not necessarily the closing date. If there was another Conservative Club in the town then only the paper records have survived There is always a chance that other artefacts were passed on to the University Conservative Club. As a pin position is required it has been put on the first fairway of the Old Course, where many members no doubt passed some time. Local input is sought to clarify the situation.
