About the memorial: Portable Communion Set. He was on fire watch in the Church on 14 March 1943 when it was destroyed in an air raid. The Communion Set was given when worship subsequently moved to St Peter's on specific condition that if St Thomas' was ever rebuilt, then it belonged to the new Church. Well it was, at the given address. Local clarification that this is in the current St Thomas' Church would be appreciated. Note also that his parents were from Oldham (this is added as a key word look up for researchers).
