About the memorial: The commemoration of Corporal Grimshaw has three elements: The standard sandstone VC tablet in a brick surround; a granite block carrying details of the award; and a short street nearby named in his honour. As Corporal Grimshaw died in his bed aged 87, his memorials are not technically war memorials but his association with the memorial garden allows us to include him. The garden is opposite St John's Church.
