Status: Unknown
Type: Non freestanding
Location: Internal
Setting: Inside a building - public/private
Description: Board/Plaque/ Tablet
Materials:
  • Stone Marble
Lettering: Incised
Conflicts:
  • First World War (1914-1918)
About the memorial: Square white marble tablet with segmented arch above a cornice. The inscription is in black capital lettering. The church is now part of a United Reformed/Methodist partnership and I could not ascertain which denomination this memorial originally belonged to. (The United Reformed Church itself is the result of a 1972 merger.) Local knowledge welcomed. This church is about to be replaced by a new building in Upperton Road- building work started in 2021 and in April 2023 is still ongoing. Again, local knowledge is needed to confirm the fate of the memorial. The Greenfield Road site is itself a modern building, on the site of a former Methodist Church
