About the memorial: Rhos-Y-Gad Methodist Chapel is an active Welsh Methodist Chapel (all signs, notices, etc. in Welsh). As well as the World War I brass/bronze Memorial plaque to 10 Fallen there is also a WWI Roll of Honour listing 68 names of those who served, this is documented as a separate Memorial. Both items are inside on the Southeast wall, either side of the altar. The WWI Memorial to the Fallen is to the right of the altar listing the ten Fallen from the area with text in Welsh. The information given is rank, a Christian name (and initials), surname, initials of the regiment and the area that the man came from. All the lettering is very clear and not in danger but there is some evidence of ‘over cleaning’ on the left-hand side just above the start of the names and at the bottom where a decorative element of the panel has been cleaned – also similarly at the top.
