Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

These stone planters and seat were dedicated on/ Remembrance Sunday, 13 November 2005, at the completion of a process intitiated by/ Killinghall Parish Council/ to mark the 60th anniversary of the/ ending of the Second World War./ A combination of Parish Council and community donations paid for this scheme./ The memorial itself, built of Killinghall stone,/ was funded by public subscription and unveiled at a/ dedication ceremony on 7 May 1921 by/ Major The Hon. Edward Wood, MP for Ripon (1910 ~ 1925),/ who later became The 1st Earl of halifax.
