About the memorial: Rectangular copper plaque with concave corners, mounted on a black stone backboard. Beneath the Caernarvonshire Constabulary crest at top-centre, the incised inscription is mainly in black lettering, but the names are in red lettering. 5 August 2020: "The Old Courthouse" opened as a music venue and restaurant, in whose lobby the memorial now hangs on display. / February 2018: The converted former Court building was purchased for redevelopment as a business premises. / 2009: The Magistrates and Crown Court (in which the memorial had been installed) closed. The premises was subsequently bought by a developer and converted into a private dwelling. At the time of WW1 the Constabulary called itself Carnarvonshire and the WW1 memorial (WMO/286408) is listed under that title, by WW2 that had changed. The County varied it's spelling over the years.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
