About the memorial: This memorial appears in the booklet of Oxfordshire memorials referred to in the Comment section. However, the IWM Register categorises it as lost. The memorial is, or was, an organ with a brass plaque on some oak panelling. It is not clear whether the IWM verdict of Lost applies to the organ or to the organ and the plaque. The memorial is a particularly difficult one to think of - three brothers from the Ox and Bucks Light Infantry killed on the Somme in the space of four weeks. It would be a tragedy if all record of it really is lost. The National Pipe Organ Register refers to a pipe organ of this church being worked on in 1921 and replaced by an electronic organ in 1985, but further research is needed.
