About the memorial: Crudely made Roll of Honour with portraits in oval frames, with the names underneath, probably in a glazed wooden frame. The original has long since vanished as has the works (closed on 1 April 1966). However knowledge of it survives through a postcard from an unidentified maker of Market Street, York in the "A.W.O. York Heroes series" It may possibly only ever have existed as a postcard. The site of the works is now occupied by a Morrisons Supermarket, which was built in 1979, so that is the pin location and postcode used in this report.
