About the memorial: Printed copy of painting of “Operation Chastise”, by John Lander, and autographed by him, behind glass in a narrow plain wood frame. The dedication is below the picture, with the RAF badge on each side. The School became a Community College, moved to new premises in 2016 and became an Academy in 2020 when it was named as given in the address. The "Memorial Oaks" mentioned in the dedication are WMO/288635. He was from the town of Crook where he is commemorated on various memorials

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

This print was presented to Wolsingham School by John Larder, Aviation Artist,/In memory of a former pupil of Wolsingham Grammar School, Tom Jaye. Tom flew with/the Dambusters and was killed on the raid, and was remembered at the/re-dedication of the Memorial Oaks on Wednesday 11th November 1998.
