About the memorial: Brass plaque with a red border round the edge. This would have gone straight into the post WW2 rebuilt Church. It is on the wall of the staircase leading down to the crypt. Note that the date of death (at the St Regis Hotel) is 19 September 1940, not the 1941 which is reported to be on the plaque. Charles was from Chilham, according to CWGC.
