About the memorial: Grey granite headstone on a family grave; decorative chamfered edges; decorative border; inscription incised in upright capital block lettering. The memorial is towards the western end of the older section of the cemetery, near the car park. CWGC has his date of death as 20 May (as opposed to 19 May on the gravestone), and also state that he was born at Pilsley and lived latterly at Sutton in Ashfield. He does not seem to be commemorated at Pilsley.
