About the memorial: Copper plaque, white text. The top of the plaque has a colour image of the United States flag, British flag, and the flag of the USSR with a banner reading 'THE UNITED NATIONS'. On the left side of this is the date 1939, and on the right is the date 1945. Underneath is a commemoration to the men of the South Normanton Miner's Welfare Social Club who served in the Second World War, and under that is a list of names. Under the names is a quote from John 15:13. It is on the wall next to the Parish WW1 window (WMO/278851), but was in all probability originally in the club before it closed.
