About the memorial: WW1 - Dark oak panelling extending out from the sides of the reredos behind the High Altar of the church, with an accompanying wooden board now on the West wall of the Lady Chapel to the South, but which was on the inside West wall of the church. Each section of the panelling has a pierced pediment of carved flowers, with five carved bosses in a cornice beneath. The right-hand section of panelling incorporates an inset credence table, with a Dedication carved above. The recess for the credence is angled back, with pierced circular carvings in the top corners. The accompanying board has a frame surrounding the lettering, which is carved in relief, and has a pierced design in the top corners. The lettering in Celtic in style, with the main title and the initial letters of the names gilded, and the infills of the initial letters of the names are also rubricated. The remainder of the lettering is painted white. A plain oak board set below the WW1 board, and within the same outer frame. The lettering style (Celtic) is similar to that used for the WW1 board, but is incised, rather than raised. The dates and the initial letters of the names are gilded, and the infills of initial letters are also blocked in - red for the Christian names, black for the surnames. Otherwise the lettering is painted white. This placement and the wording make it a continuation of the WW1 memorial by WMO criteria though it has a separate IWM Register entry.
