About the memorial: Three light window. Left - St Georgeabove a smaller panel showing St George on horseback slaying the dragon. Centre - St Michael above a smaller panel showing the crucified Christ. Right - Bryhtnoth above a smaller panel showing his coffin being rowed to te Isel of Ely for his burial. Immediately below the window is a regular rectangular brass plaque attached to a wooden backboard. The dedication is written in gothic script across the top. The names are in 10 columns below this. A single ruling runs round the edge of the brass. The IWM Register gives separate entries for these components but they are treated as a single memorial here. The photo of the plaqlue has been distorted by te uploading process. It should be much wider and shallower.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
