About the memorial: An addition to a memorial stone on a family grave. The memorial comprises a pink polished granite cross and base but the plain Latin cross and top step have been detached and laid on the surface of the grave. The square base has a flat top and bears an incised inscription on its faces in upright capital block lettering. It is towards the northern end of the cemetery, south of the lodge and between the main path and the adjacent road (Burton Edge). CWGC give the date of death as 14 April, as against 13 April on the gravestone.
