About the memorial: An addition to the inscription on the kerbstone of a family grave. The oblong concrete kerbs have a broad chamfer on one side bearing a raised inscription in upright capital block lettering. The parish church signboard clearly identifies the village as Great Barlow but maps and other references refer to it as just Barlow. The grave is about 25m west of the church.
