About the memorial: Carved panelling around the walls (originally from the dining room at nearby Lady Cross Lodge). One of the panels reworked to create the frame for a Roll of Honour commemorating men with a connection to Buckler's Hard who served or were killed in WW1. A separate framed Roll of Honour commemorates those who served or were killed in WW2. Note: Neither Roll of Honour states which war it refers to, however in each case this can be deduced by cross-checking the names highlighted with an asterisk (WW1 Roll of Honour) or a cross (WW2 Roll of Honour), indicating those who died, against the Commonwealth War Graves Commission database of WW1 and WW2 casualties. On the WW2 Roll of Honour, four of the names are annotated with the word 'Prisoner' in brackets: this is likely to indicate that they were prisoners of war, however research would be needed to establish whether or not this was the case.
