About the memorial: An addition to a headstone on a family grave. The low oblong sandstone headstone has a stepped top with a cross incised at the top left and an incised inscription in upright capital Roman lettering coloured black. It is accompanied by plain oblong sandstone kerbs with further inscriptions inlaid in upright capital lettering. It is just to the east of the centre of the cemetery. CWGC records his date of death as 5 December rather than 17 December on the gravestone, it also shows family connections to Whalley, where he is commemorated on WMO/121880.
