About the memorial: A rectangular stone tablet with a coloured image of St Michael on the left, a small cross at the top, and the inscription incised in upright roman lettering coloured red. The church is located in the fields 300 metres away from the public road. The memorial is on the north wall of the nave. This memorial is, for now, being given the benefit of the doubt. The tablet at least suggests that he was on active service at the time of his death. At age 57 as a Colonel that is certainly possible.
