About the memorial: Addition to gravestone in the form of a polished black granite three-stepped Calvary cross with incised lettering. The church is nearly a kilometre from Main Road and is situated adjacent to Elvaston Castle. After the war, in 1920, his grave was concentrated to Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension.
