About the memorial: An addition to a family gravestone comprising a sandstone headstone on an oblong base. The tall headstone has a rounded head with a projecting roundel bearing an image of a sailing ship in relief. The recessed sides have attached colonnettes and a further semicircular panel at the foot contains an image of a fouled anchor in relief. The borders at the shoulders and lower sides bear a repeated fleuron motif in relief and a further panel at the head contains the opening inscription with a compass rose pointing East in relief. The inscription is incised in a decorative serif font, mainly in upright capital lettering, and has a plain raised border. The oblong base has a chamfered top and the fleuron motif on the face. It is to the south of the church, west of the path from the Market Place end of Castle Street

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
