About the memorial: A large, heavy, brown-glazed stoneware flower bowl, circular in plan, with an incised inscription around the rim and names in four panels around the sides. The inscription is in capital block lettering and the names are in sentence-case lettering. The vase is displayed on a table against the north wall. The vase is accompanied by a caption explaining that the bowl "lists all the members of Elder Yard Sunday School who enlisted in the Great War."
