About the memorial: Originally a bronze plaque and circular window. The nowy-headed bronze wall plaque has a raised border of laurel leaves, a circular laurel wreath at the head and an inscription with list of names in a single column below, all in raised upright capital roman lettering.  The stained glass window has at its centre a figure in blues, reds and green representing the Parable of the Sower surrounded by a border of acanthus leaves. At a later date a similar tablet was added to the first and both were mounted on a common oaken backboard with a copper shelf for the placement of tributes. The window is in the east wall and the plaque is mounted on the north wall.
