About the memorial: Brass plaque in wooden frame. There is another brass plaque on the bottom edge of the frame relating the history of the memorial. The Church was badly damaged in the Belfast Blitz of 1941, it later merged with York Street Presbyterian (see WMO/291690) which had been destroyed in the Blitz, in the former Parish Halls of Castleton Church, and was then renamed as Alexandra Presbyterian. The names are in 6 columns with the fallen at the top and the returned below. One of the named Casualties is George Kirkwood, died 9 May 1916 who played in the 14th Royal Irish Rifles Football Team B Company- see the reference for more information about this team. Another name is William John Brolly of the Distillery Football Club (WMO/292640)
