About the memorial: A white marble tablet and frame on a black marble backboard. The plain oblong tablet bears an incised inscription in upright capital roman lettering coloured black. At the head of the frame is a moulded cornice with egg and dart motif surmounted by a pediment bearing an array of military equipage in relief: crossed rifles, an officer's sword, a rifleman's head-dress, pouches, belts and lanyards. The stiles have foliage in relief within a central recess and at the foot is a plain cornice with a recurved panel below bearing a heraldic shield and acanthus leaves in relief. It is high on the north wall of the sanctuary.
