About the memorial: An inclined rectangular grey stone tablet, possibly granite, set at the edge of a community garden. The tablet is supported on a base of similar material and bears an incised inscription in upright capital roman lettering coloured white. The garden comprises a block paved area incorporating raised flower beds, a flagstaff, seats and other features and is partly bordered by a two-rail timber fence. It is unclear whether or not the garden is part of the memorial scheme, so for the purposes of this report it is assumed not.
