About the memorial: A brick and tile building which serves as a school and as a community hall. A stone tablet is set into the front gable and a ceramic tablet on the front wall describes the history of the hall. A wooden board on the South wall inside the Geoff Wilson Room is in six panels, has a moulded cornice ornamented with carved flowers at the head, an inverted moulded cornice at the foot, carved decoration at the sides and carved tracery at the head of the top three panels. The inscriptions and names are painted in upright capital Roman lettering, mainly black but some gilded.
