About the memorial: A composite memorial comprising a lectern, prayer desk and tablet. The oak lectern has a carved column depicting crossed flags before an inverted sword with gilded handle. The head terminates in a ball on which is perched a dove whose outstretched wings support the tray which has the inscription at the front. The heavy octagonal base has a moulded surface and the names of two of the fallen are on two of the faces. The oak prayer desk has panels of pierced carving. The central panel depicts a gilded crown crossed by an inverted sword and two flags of St George with their flies drawn into swags. Behind them a laurel wreath has ribbons which spread across the foot. The side panels each have a pair of lancet windows with tracery above and a rosette above that. One name of the fallen is at the foot of each side. The inscription is on the edge of the top panel. At the foot is a decorated fabric kneeler. The incised and gilded inscriptions are in upright capital roman lettering. The oblong white marble tablet has a plain pediment with a Chi Rho monogram at the head. Below the pediment is a narrow frieze of egg and dart and below that a narrow punctuated border. The principal panel bears an incised inscription and name list in upright capital block lettering coloured black. The tablet has a polygonal vase attached to each side and is supported by a pair of moulded brackets. The memorial tablet is same design and wording as the memorial in St Andrews Little Cubley WMO/292972. Names in two groups "THE ONE SHALL BE TAKEN" - those who died. "AND THE OTHER LEFT" - those who served. The lectern and desk are in the nave by the chancel arch and the tablet is in the porch.
