  • First World War (1914-1918)
About the memorial: Paper Roll of Honour. Note that a large part of the right hand side has been neatly cut away so the names list is incomplete. The names are hand written on a standard Church of England form pre-printed by SPCK. Those of the served are in the left hand Column and of the fallen in the surviving part of the right hand column. There is nothing on the document to indicate where it was from- save by comparing the two Rolls of Honour, and studying the Archival paper trail. It is document PR 156/70 at the Archives. Note that this was replaced after the war by a permanent Roll of Honour- see WMO/176988.
