About the memorial: Carved lettering in a gritstone stringcourse around the walls of the nave. The stringcourse extends around the north, south and east walls of the nave at about two-thirds of its height. The introductory and closing inscriptions each occupy two lines of text and are located at the west end of the church. Each name occupies three lines of text and is placed between windows. The gilded upright capital roman lettering is carved in cavo rilievo style with the background painted red.
