Status: On original site
Type: Non freestanding
Location: Internal
Setting: Inside a building - public/private
Description: Board/Plaque/ Tablet
  • Stone Alabaster
  • Stone Marble
Lettering: Incised
  • First World War (1914-1918)
  • Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial: A wall mounted black marble tablet in an alabaster frame. The plain polished tablet has a segmental arch top and the incised gilded inscription is in mixed case upright roman lettering. The frame is of brown veined white alabaster with a moulded cornice at the head and moulded borders to the tablet. It is surmounted by an oblong block bearing the shield of the Curzon family in relief and rests on two small brackets. As this was a natural death it would not ordinarily qualify as a war memorial. However as the inscription concentrates on his service in both World Wars it narrowly passes muster as a valid record.
