Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

THE GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMNET (28/61ST) MEMORIAL TAPESTRY / This tapestry commemorates the 300 year history of the Gloucestershire Regiment prior to its / amalgamation witht he Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire) in 1994. / The Regiment commissioned the overall design from gerladine Brock and it was worked by local / volunteers. / Thed esign is based upon a regimental tenor drum with segments of the Regiment's colours of / primrose, red and black. The central cross is an enlarged version of the cross carved by Colonel James / Carne VC whilst in solitary confinement as a prisoner of war. The Regimemnt's unique two cap badges / front and back, are superimposed on the cross. On either side are the eight Victoria Crosses and the / George Cross won by members of the Regiment. Outside them is a selection of the Regiment's more / famous battle honours. The Blue and Gold United States Presidential Citation runs across the top and the / river Severn appears below. On the outer edges there are two pictures to symbolise Gloucestershire' / the Cathedral and a Cotswold scene. / Brass before and brass behind / Never feared a foe of any kind
