Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

W/ At dawn on the 22nd October 1944 artillery pieces opened fire on the/ Dutch city of 's-Hertogenbosch heralding the attack by infantry and/ armour of the 53rd Welsh Division that was to defeat the German troops/ who had occupied the city since 1940./ the 5th Battalion the Welch Regiment formed part of the order of battle of the/ 53rd Welsh Division./ At the end of the battle/ The 53rd Welsh Division had lost 123 dead, 75 missing and 270 wounded./ 5th Welch had lost 11 dead, 66 missing and 50 wounded./ The city of 's-Hertogenbosch had lost 118 dead and 80 seriously wounded./ This stone commemorates those Welsh and Dutch lives lost during the/ liberation of 's-Hertogenbosch and the friendship that has since developed/ between the citizens of Wales and the Netherlands./ Voor de dappere burger van 's-Hertogenbosch,/ die jaren van sware onderdrukking heeft weerstann.
