About the memorial: A carved wooden font cover accompanied by a brass plaque. The oaken cover has a domed top, plain moulded sides and a carved cherub at each corner. At the centre is a metal lifting ring. The accompanying oblong brass plaque has a thin incised border, curved at the top around an incised design resembling a coat of arms. The inscription is incised in uncials and at the foot is an incised badge of the Army Service Corps. The memorial is in the baptistry at the western end of the nave and the plaque is on the adjacent west wall.

THE FONT COVER WAS GIVEN IN MEMORY OF/ CAPTAIN GEORGE H. BOROUGH, A.S.C. HORSE/ TRANSPORT, SECOND SON OF JOHN BOROUGH OF EATON/ BANK, WHO DIED ON ACTIVE SERVICE IN FRANCE 7TH./ NOVEMBER 1916, AGED 44 AND WAS BURIED AT ÉTAPLES.
